Homepage
The homepage is the first thing someone will see when they visit a website.
My magazine is called ‘The Global Endeavor’ - a magazine that doesn’t just focus on the local stories, but the stories from across the world.
The colour scheme for the background of the homepage is a mixture of greens and blues to represent the world, connoting to the global aspect of my magazine.
There is also cartoon images of the world on the white background of the magazine to represent the many different places in the world where these stories come from.
I went for a nice big and block-like font to show the seriousness of the stories and to show that no matter where in the world these stories are coming from, they are important, and people need to be informed about them.
As you scroll down the page the small cartoon worlds will follow down until you get to the end of the page.
- On the homepage there is 3 small speech text bubbles with small headlines of what types of stories are being told on the website.
- There is also a giant cartoon world in the corer of the homepage with the title 'The Global Endeavor' in a black font so it can easily be seen when someone looks at the website.
-At the top of the homepage there are 4 header icons that when someone clicks on one of them, it will take them to linked page about that specific header.
- With the green speech bubbles if someone were to click on one of those, it will take them directly to the story that the speech bubble talks about.
Linked Page
When someone clicks on one of the header icons it will taken them to the specific page they lick on.
- With the linked page prototype, someone would have clicked on the 'Local News' tab and it would have brought them to the 'Local News' tab where they will see more specific tabs about the news in places likes Suffolk and Norfolk so people can get the news locally.
- The background for the linked has the same background with the small cartoon worlds on the back dotted throughout the background
- Again there is the blue rectangle that follows down until the end of the page where the text for the news story and pictures that go with it. For the prototype, I used a coronavirus story and a picture I took of myself as the main image for the story.
Magazine Cover
The magazine cover follows a similar style to the webpage so that people can make the connection and recognize that they are the same magazine.
The cover of the magazine has the main image of the main story in the magazine, which is the coronavirus story. The title of the magazine is in a huge cartoon image of the world, like the one on the webpage. The colour of the font/title is different because I wanted something that would show up and allow people to see the title, which is why the webpage title is black and the magazine cover is a combination of green, white and blue.
